Sheila Spisak, a 2013 ATHENA Award nominee, is currently the Director of People Development at Muncie Power Products where she specializes in designing and implementing professional development programs for employees, focuses on employee wellness, and creates employee training orientation programs. In her previous positions at Ball State University, Xavier University, and Ball Corporation she was instrumental in departmental reorganization procedures, managed career services departments, created employee handbooks and wrote job descriptions, conducted audits and assisted students, faculty and alumni with job search strategies. Sheila is very active in the community. In collaboration with LEAD-ECI, she co-founded the HR Roundtable for local HR executives to meet and discuss relevant topics in the rapidly changing HR field. Sheila serves on the United Way of Delaware County Board and she serves on the board of Directors of East Central Indiana Human Resources Association. Sheila is revered in the human resources world, corporate and academic arenas for her expertise and professionalism. She has continuously been involved in “people development” and empowering women in the workforce.
Sheila will discuss strategies for eliminating the phony factor that we sometimes feel in ourselves and from others when networking. You will learn the importance of connecting, sharing, and using an effective personal introduction to help propel others and yourself in your professional pursuits.
